How Clobetasol + Clotrimazole + Neomycin works

  • Clobetasol has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties. It reduces the production of arachidonic acid - a substance that produces inflammatory substances.
  • Clotrimazole primarily works by damaging the permeability barrier in the fungal cytoplasmic membrane. This inhibits the biosynthesis of ergosterol and disrupts an intact and functional cell membrane. This ultimately halts ergosterol synthesis and impedes fungal cell growth.
  • Neomycin is classified as an aminoglycoside antibiotic, known for its ability to inhibit bacterial protein synthesis, particularly targeting gram-negative bacteria.
