Mahacef 100 Dry Syrup 30ml

Mahacef-100 Dry Syrup is used in the management of:

• Ear infections, specifically otitis media

• Infections of the nose and throat

• Sinus infections

• Respiratory tract infections, including bronchitis and pneumonia

• Urinary tract infections

• Uncomplicated cases of gonorrhoea

• Typhoid fever

Giving your child Mahacef-100 Dry Syrup involves the following steps:

• Shake the bottle well to loosen the powder.

• Add the enclosed sterile water for constitution (supplied with this pack) to constitute the powder up to the ring shown on the bottle.

• Shake well for uniform dispersion.

• Store the constituted suspension in a refrigerator between 2°C to 8°C and use within 7 days.

Mahacef-100 Dry Syrup is given orally to your child.

Mahacef-100 Dry Syrup contains cefixime (100 mg), which acts on your child's body through the following mechanisms:

• Inhibits Bacterial Cell Wall Synthesis: Cefixime works by blocking specific proteins called penicillin-binding proteins located inside the bacterial cell wall. These proteins play a key role in building the bacterial cell wall.

• Leads to Bacterial Cell Lysis: By blocking these proteins, cefixime interferes with a process critical for bacterial cell wall strength and rigidity. This weakens the cell wall and eventually leads to the breakdown (or lysis) of the bacteria, causing them to die.

Through these mechanisms of action, Mahacef-100 Dry Syrup effectively helps manage various bacterial infections in children.

• Store the Mahacef-100 Dry Syrup in a cool, dry place at room temperature, not exceeding 30°C.

• Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from moisture.

• After preparing the syrup, store it in the refrigerator between 2°C to 8°C.

• Make sure it's out of reach of children.

• Use the syrup within 7 days of preparation and before the expiry date.

• To help manage your child's bacterial infections, ensure they have plenty of fluids as this aids in flushing out the bacteria from their system.

• If your child has diarrhea, a common side effect, serve them with bland foods like rice or bananas which can ease their stomach. Remember to consult with your doctor for any persistent symptoms.
