Zathrin 250 Tablet is used for managing the following health conditions:

• Bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsilitis, pharyngitis, and sinusitis which are all respiratory tract infections.

• Ear infections, also known as otitis media.

• Skin and soft tissue infections.

• Sexually transmitted diseases such as chlamydia and nongonococcal urethritis.

• Genital ulcer disease.

• Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), an infection of the female reproductive organs.

• Prevention and management of Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC), a bacterial infection common in AIDS patients.

Here's how to take Zathrin 250 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• Remember not to crush or chew the tablet.

• It's important to complete the full course prescribed by your doctor, even if your symptoms improve before completion.

• If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it's nearly time for your next dose. Avoid doubling up on doses.

• Interferes With Protein Synthesis: Azithromycin works by binding to a part of the bacteria called the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome. This interaction inhibits the translation of mRNA, a process essential for creating proteins.

• Stops Bacterial Growth: By hindering protein synthesis within bacteria, azithromycin effectively halts their growth. At lower concentrations, it stops bacterial reproduction (bacteriostatic), and at higher concentrations, it kills them outright (bactericidal).
