Xprab Injection 1

Xprab Injection is used for the following:

• Prevention of rabies in individuals at high risk of exposure, such as veterinarians and animal handlers.

• Providing immunity to forestry workers who might come into contact with potentially rabid animals.

• Protection against rabies for laboratory personnel working with the rabies virus.

• Post-exposure prophylaxis, administered to individuals after they've been bitten by an animal suspected to have rabies.

• Only a healthcare professional should administer this injection.

• The injection is given intramuscularly, usually in the deltoid region for adults and older children, or in the anterolateral thigh for infants and younger children.

• Avoid administering in the gluteal region.

• After administration, dispose of all used materials properly.

Xprab Injection is administered via an intramuscular/intradermal route.

Xprab Injection contains anti rabies vaccine - ARV (2.5IU). Here's how it works:

• Induces Immune Response: The vaccine contains an inactivated form of the rabies virus that doesn't cause disease but can trigger an immune response.

• Antibody Production: Upon administration, the injection stimulates your body to produce specific antibodies against the rabies virus.

• Future Protection: These antibodies provide you with immunity against future exposures to the rabies virus.

This way, Xprab Injection prepares your body to fight off potential infections from the rabies virus effectively.

• Store Xprab Injection at a cool temperature, ideally between 2°C to 8°C.

• Don't freeze it; discard if it accidentally freezes.

• Keep the medicine out of direct light.

• Always keep Xprab Injection away from children's reach.

• Make sure to use the injection before its expiry date.

• If you're in regular contact with animals, consider wearing gloves and other protective clothing to minimise exposure risk to rabies.

• In case of an animal scratch or bite, wash the area immediately with soap and water for at least 15 minutes. This can help reduce the risk of infection.
