Moxmentin Dry Syrup 30 ML

Moxmentin Dry Syrup 30 ML is used for managing the following:

• Upper respiratory tract infections such as sinusitis

• Lower respiratory tract infections like bronchitis and pneumonia

• Infections in the ear, nose, and throat including otitis media and tonsillitis

• Urinary tract infections

• Infections of the skin and soft tissues

• Dental infections

This medicine provides broad protection against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, even those that produce beta-lactamase and are resistant to amoxicillin alone.

Administer Moxmentin Dry Syrup 30 ML as follows:

• Reconstitute the dry syrup with water as directed on the packaging.

• Shake well before each use to ensure a uniform mixture.

• The reconstituted syrup can be taken with or without food. If taken on an empty stomach, schedule it at least 30 minutes before or 2 hours after a meal.

• Make sure to consult your doctor for specific advice about when and how to take this medicine.

Moxmentin Dry Syrup 30 ML is taken orally.

The effectiveness of Moxmentin Dry Syrup 30 ML is due to two active ingredients:

• Amoxicillin (125 mg): This semi-synthetic penicillin works by attaching itself to certain proteins in the bacteria known as penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). When these PBPs are inactivated, the formation of the bacterial cell wall is disrupted, which eventually leads to the death of the bacteria.

• Clavulanic Acid (31.25 mg): Although clavulanic acid has limited antibacterial activity by itself, its real power lies in its ability to block certain enzymes called beta-lactamases. These enzymes are produced by some bacteria to prevent amoxicillin from exerting its effects. By blocking these enzymes, clavulanic acid ensures that amoxicillin can do its job effectively against even those bacteria that would otherwise be resistant.

• Store the Moxmentin Dry Syrup 30 ML in its original packaging.

• Keep it at room temperature, ideally below 25°C.

• Protect the syrup from light and moisture to maintain its effectiveness.

• Always keep it out of the reach of children.

• While on Moxmentin Dry Syrup 30 ML, ensure you stay well hydrated. This is because the medicine can sometimes lead to mild stomach discomfort, which drinking plenty of water can help manage.
