Minoz ER 65 Tablet belongs to the tetracycline group of antibiotics. It is used to treat various infections, such as bacterial infections that affect the eyes, ears, nose, throat, and chest infections, skin infections, gonorrhoea or pelvic, prostate, and urinary tract infections.

It is also used to treat meningitis carriers. It can also be given to prevent infection before and after an operation.

Inform your doctor duly about any pre-existing diseases and mention all the medicines. Your doctor will carefully review and decide regarding the dosage & frequency of use of this tablet.

Directions for Use of Minoz Er 65 Tablet 10

Minoz ER 65 Tablet should be taken as prescribed by your doctor.
Swallow it with water, preferably after food, to prevent nausea.
Do not cut, break, or chew the medicine.
It would be best to take it at a fixed time for optimal results.

Minoz ER 65 Tablet is taken orally.

Minoz ER 65 Tablet contains the following component:

Minocycline (65 mg): It is a tetracycline antibiotic that acts by binding to a part of the bacterial ribosomes which are responsible for protein synthesis, thus preventing the protein synthesis in the bacteria.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant it is not advisable to take Minoz ER 65 Tablet as it harms the unborn baby. It is best to consult the doctor before use.

Alcohol

Children

Drug-Drug Interactions

Minoz ER 65 Tablet can interact with the following medications, including:

Anticoagulant medications such as warfarin. The concomitant use of this tablet requires dosage adjustment of the anticoagulant medications.
Beta-lactam antibiotics such as penicillins. This tablet, when taken with beta-lactam antibiotics, can interfere with the bactericidal action of the beta-lactam antibiotics.
Antacids containing aluminum, calcium, magnesium, and iron-containing preparations. The concomitant use of antacids with this tablet can impair the absorption of this tablet.
Volatile anesthetics such as methoxyflurane. The concomitant use of volatile anesthetics and this table can result in fatal renal toxicity.
Oral contraceptives such as ethinylestradiol. The concomitant use of this tablet with oral contraceptives can lead to reduced effectiveness of oral contraceptives.
Retinoids such as isotretinoin. The concomitant use of this tablet with retinoids can result in idiopathic intracranial hypertension.
Ergot alkaloids such as methysergide. The concomitant use of this tablet with ergot alkaloids can cause ergotism.

Drug-Disease Interactions

Minoz ER 65 Tablet can interact with diseases, including:

Myasthenia gravis: The use of this tablet in myasthenia gravis can cause neuromuscular blockade.
Liver diseases: The use of this tablet for the long term can further worsen this condition.
Kidney diseases: The use of this tablet for the long term can further worsen this condition.
Systemic lupus erythematosus: The use of this tablet can further worsen this condition.
Intracranial hypertension: The use of this tablet can further increase intracranial hypertension.
Sensitivity to sunlight: This tablet can make your skin sensitive to sunlight.

Daily Dose

The recommended daily dose of Minoz ER 65 Tablet should be taken as per the doctor's prescription. The dosage may change based on individual factors such as age, severity of the condition, and response to treatment.

Over Dose

If you or someone else takes an excessive amount of Minoz ER 65 Tablet by accident, it is essential to take the patient to the nearest doctor. The overdose symptoms include dizziness, feeling or being sick.

Missed Dose

If you forget to take the dose of the Minoz ER 65 Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If the next dose is near, skipping the missed dose and resuming your regular dosage pattern is recommended.

Store this medicine at room temperature (15-25ºC).
