Dapanorm-M10 Forte Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults

• Controlling high blood sugar levels

• Reducing the risk of kidney damage due to diabetes

• Preventing blindness associated with diabetes

• Lowering the chances of nerve issues due to diabetes

• Minimising the risk of limb amputations in diabetic patients

• Addressing sexual dysfunction issues linked to diabetes

• Lowering the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack or heart failure in diabetic patients with established heart disease.

Here's how you should take Dapanorm-M10 Forte Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole, preferably with a meal.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Remember not to exceed the recommended dosage without consulting your doctor.

• Avoid abruptly stopping this medicine – always consult your doctor first.

Dapanorm-M10 Forte Tablet is taken orally.

Dapanorm-M10 Forte Tablet comprises two active ingredients:

• Dapagliflozin (10 mg): As a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, dapagliflozin works by reducing the absorption of glucose in your kidneys and lowering the renal threshold for glucose. Consequently, more glucose is excreted through urine, leading to a decrease in blood sugar levels.

• Metformin (1000 mg): Falling under the biguanide class of antidiabetic medicines, metformin works by reducing the production of glucose in your liver and decreasing intestinal absorption of glucose. It also improves insulin sensitivity by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilisation. This action helps lower both basal and postprandial plasma glucose levels without leading to hypoglycemia.

Together, dapagliflozin and metformin provide a complementary approach to managing blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes.
