Contraindications

• This combination is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to dicyclomine or mefenamic acid, patients having peptic ulcers, bleeding disorders, asthma, glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, high blood pressure, or inflammatory bowel disease.

Other Medications To Avoid With This Medicine

• Avoid taking ACE inhibitors (benazepril), NSAIDs (aspirin), diuretics (hydrochlorothiazide), antidepressants (lithium), antimetabolites (methotrexate), cardiac glycosides (digoxin), oral hypoglycemic agents (glipizide), antiplatelet agents (clopidogrel), corticosteroids (prednisone), and antiglaucoma agents (latanoprost). These medications may alter the safety and effectiveness of this combination.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• Overdose can cause lethargy, drowsiness, nausea, headache, blurred vision, dilated pupils, hot and dry skin, dizziness, dryness of the mouth, difficulty in swallowing, vomiting, (upper stomach) epigastric pain, tonic-clonic (grand mal) fits, gastrointestinal bleeding, high blood pressure, acute renal failure, CNS stimulation (increased alertness, attention, energy and physical activity), respiratory depression (slow and ineffective breathing), muscular weakness paralysis and coma. These symptoms need to be managed as an emergency in a hospital setting. Therefore, strict adherence to the prescribed dose is essential.
• If you miss a dose of this combination, take it as soon as you remember, but if the next dose is near, skip the missed dose and resume the regular dosing regime.

Management of Side Effects

• Take this combination with food to reduce gastrointestinal side effects and continue taking it as prescribed. If side effects worsen or persist, consult your doctor for a possible treatment plan adjustment.

Use In Driving And Operating Machinery

• This medicine can cause dizziness. It is not recommended to drive, operate machinery, or do other activities that require mental alertness or coordination after taking this medicine. 

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• This combination is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Caution is advised in older adults and patients with kidney and liver impairment.

• It is advised to avoid taking alcohol if you are taking this combination.

• Be cautious with extreme temperatures. Avoid exposure to very cold or hot environments, which can trigger muscle spasms.
• Opt for loose-fitting clothing instead of tight garments to prevent muscle constriction.
• Ensure you get enough rest and good sleep to allow your muscles to recover properly.
• Apply ice or hot packs to the affected muscles for 15-20 minutes to relieve muscle spasms and discomfort.
• Drink sufficient water to maintain proper hydration, which is essential for muscle function.
