How Tranexamic Acid + Mefenamic Acid works

In the case of heavy menstrual bleeding, it reduces blood loss by keeping the clots in the uterus from breaking down too soon.

Contraindications
- It is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Tranexamic Acid + Mefenamic Acid and patients with renal insufficiency, currently having blood clots or disease leading to blood clots, consumption coagulopathy, and a history of convulsions.

- Avoid taking other anti-fibrinolytic medicines (aprotinin), thrombolytic medicines (streptokinase), and oral contraceptives (ethinylestradiol). These medications may alter the safety and effectiveness of Tranexamic Acid + Mefenamic Acid.
Overdose and Missed Dose
- Overdose can cause dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, orthostatic symptoms hypotension and convulsions. These symptoms need to be managed as an emergency in a hospital setting. Therefore, strict adherence to the prescribed dose is essential.
- If you miss a dose of this combination, take it as soon as you remember. But, if the next dose is near, skip the missed dose and resume the regular dosing regime.

- This combination is not recommended in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
