Xylocard 2% Injection contains lidocaine (2%) which acts on your body as follows:

• Blocks Sodium Channels: Lidocaine works by temporarily blocking certain proteins called voltage-gated sodium channels on the membrane of nerve cells. These channels are crucial for transmitting pain signals from peripheral nerves to your spinal cord and brain.

• Prevents Pain Signal Transmission: By blocking these sodium channels, lidocaine inhibits the flow of ions required to initiate and carry nerve impulses. This action effectively prevents the transmission of pain signals.

• Induces Temporary Loss of Sensation: As a result of its action on sodium channels, lidocaine stabilises the membrane of nerve cells resulting in a reversible loss of sensation in the area where it's administered.

• Store Xylocard 2% Injection at a temperature below 30°C.

• The injection should remain protected from light.

• Ensure the medicine is not exposed to freezing or refrigeration.

• Keep it out of reach of children.
