Clavulanic acid (125 mg): This ingredient is a beta-lactamase inhibitor. It binds to and neutralises beta-lactamase enzymes produced by certain resistant bacteria. By doing so, clavulanic acid prevents these enzymes from breaking down cefixime, thus extending cefixime's effectiveness against resistant bacteria.
