K Mac Tablet is used in the treatment of kidney stones

Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and duration of the K Mac Tablet. Take it all in at once. It should not be chewed, crushed, or broken. K Mac Tablet can be taken with or without food, however, it's best if you take it at the same time every day.

Rather than raising the filtered load of citrate, potassium citrate increases urine citrate by changing the renal processing of citrate. Potassium citrate pills cause changes in the urine that make it less favourable to the crystallisation of stone-forming ions (calcium oxalate, calcium phosphate and uric acid). Potassium citrate also prevents calcium oxalate and calcium phosphate from forming spontaneously (brushite).

Magnesium citrate prevents calcium-oxalate crystals from forming in the urine.

Pyridoxine reduces oxalate formation in the liver, whereas magnesium binds it in the gut, preventing it from being reabsorbed and becoming calcium oxalate kidney stones.
