Ganfort Eye Drops 3ml

Ganfort Eye Drops are used for managing the following conditions:

• Reducing raised pressure within the eye (Intraocular Pressure) in patients diagnosed with open-angle glaucoma.

• Controlling high eye pressure in people diagnosed with ocular hypertension.

• Effective management of these conditions in patients who have not responded sufficiently to either topical beta-blockers or prostaglandin analogues.

To use Ganfort Eye Drops properly, follow these steps:

• Always wash your hands before handling the bottle.

• Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid to create a pocket.

• Hold the dropper directly over your eye and squeeze out a few drops.

• Close your eye gently without blinking and press your finger to the inside corner of the eye for approximately 1 minute to prevent the liquid from draining out.

• If you are using more than one eye medication, wait at least 5 minutes between each one.

• Always consult your doctor for specific advice on how to use this medicine.

Ganfort Eye Drops are instilled topically.

Ganfort Eye Drops contain two active ingredients that work together in a multi-targeted approach:

• Bimatoprost (0.3 mg): This prostaglandin analogue increases the outflow of fluid from the eye through both the trabecular meshwork and uveoscleral routes. By doing so, bimatoprost effectively reduces the intraocular pressure (IOP).

• Timolol Maleate (6.8mg): As a beta-blocker, timolol works by reducing the production of aqueous humour in the ciliary epithelium, thereby further decreasing the IOP. This complements the increased outflow facilitated by bimatoprost.

These two active ingredients work in tandem to effectively manage elevated IOP in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

• Store Ganfort Eye Drops at a temperature below 25°C.

• Keep the bottle well-protected from light.

• Ensure the medicine is always kept out of reach of children.

• Regular eye exercises can help manage open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension, the conditions for which Ganfort Eye Drops are prescribed. Make sure to consult your doctor for appropriate exercises.

• Hydration is essential. Aim to drink around eight glasses of water per day to maintain body hydration and support overall health, including eye health.
