CMC Eye Drops are an 'ophthalmic medicine,' which is generally used to treat dry eyes. A dry eye is a condition that arises when your tears are unable to adequately lubricate your eyes. A burning sensation, sensitivity to light, eye redness, a feeling of something in your eyes, wet eyes, and blurred vision are all symptoms that are cured by CMC eye drops.

This medication is unlikely to interact with or be affected by other medications you are taking but tell your doctor if you have ever had glaucoma. Use it only if you are not wearing soft contact lenses, and consult your doctor if you get an eye infection while using it.

Use the CMC eye drops as per the doctor's prescription.Do not overuse or stop the usage on its own. There can be few side effects but they usually transient and vanish with time. However, notify your doctor if they persist or worsen.

Directions for Use of Cmc Eye Drops 10ml

CMC Eye Drops are only intended for use in the eye.
Shake the bottle vigorously prior to each use.
You can instil the eye drop by holding the lower lid of your eyes and putting in the drops.
Based on your condition, your doctor will determine how long you must use CMC Eye Drops.

CMC Eye Drops is administered Topical, i.e., it is used in the eye.

The following are CMC Eye Drops side effects:

Irritation of the eye — Due to dryness of eyes, using drops may initiate itching.
Stinging or burning sensation of the eye — Itching may lead to red and swollen eyelids, or even a temporary burning sensation.
Impaired or blurring of vision– It is caused due to the components of CMC eye drops as it has thickening properties and provides lubrication.

Managing the Side Effects:

Irritation of the eye- Irritation can be reduced by cold compression. Don’t exert heavy pressure.
Stinging or burning sensation of the eye– Rose water has a cooling tendency which can relieve the burning sensation of the eyes.
Impaired or blurring of vision– Keep your eyes closed for a sufficient amount of time. Take rest. Avoid screen.

The CMC Eye Drops are lubricants. It functions similarly to natural tears and provides transient relief from irritation and burning caused by dry eyes.
Carboxymethylcellulose is used in the treatment of dry eyes. It is used as a lubricant to relieve irritation and discomfort due to dryness of the eyes or due to exposure of the eyes to wind or sun.
Additionally, they safeguard your eyes from infections and harm. This medication has minimal side effects and is secure for use.
If you utilise soft contact lenses, you must remove them prior to application.

Daily Dose

Missed Dose

Don't stare at computer screens for long periods. Every 20 minutes, give your eyes a break.
Blink often because it helps spread moisturizing things like mucus and tears across your eyes.

If the solution changes colour or becomes cloudy, do not use it.
Never rub your eyes rashly; it may have adverse effects leading to itching, swelling and redness.
If any foreign particle enters the eyes, wash them with clean water.
