Clearwax Ear Drops 10 ML

Clearwax Ear Drops is used in the following conditions:

• Treatment of ceruminous ear plugging: Clearwax Ear Drops potentially address the symptoms of ceruminous ear plugging or impacted earwax. These drops soften and dissolve the earwax, making it easier for the earwax to be removed, either through natural processes or with the assistance of a doctor.
• Keratosis obturans: These drops can also help soften and dissolve the excessive keratin buildup in the ear canal, providing relief from symptoms like hearing loss, earache, and discomfort associated with keratosis obturans. 

• Hold the bottle in your hand for one or two minutes to warm the solution. Shake the bottle well.
• Draw the medication into the dropper.
• Gently squeeze the dropper and instil 2 to 3 drops of solution in the ear. 
• Press the skin flap of the ear and lie down for at least 5 mins to let the medication enter the ear canal.
• Repeat steps for another ear if necessary. 
• Do not touch the dropper to the ear while instilling the drops.
• Tighten the bottle cap after use to ensure the stability of the solution.

Clearwax Ear Drops are applied topically by instilling them directly into the ear. It should not be ingested orally or administered through any other route.

Clearwax Ear Drops contains the following components: 

• Paradichlorobenzene (2%): It is a chemical compound that aids in the softening and dissolving earwax. It helps to break down the hardened cerumen, making it easier to remove from the ear canal.
• Benzocaine (2.7%): It is a local anaesthetic that helps relieve pain and discomfort due the impacted earwax.
• Chlorbutol (5%): It is an antimicrobial agent with some local anaesthetic properties. It helps prevent and treat infection from earwax buildup in the ear canal.
• Turpentine Oil (15%): This oil is an emollient that softens the earwax, further facilitating the removal of the impacted earwax.

• Store this medicine in cool and dark place.
• Protect it from light and moisture.

• Avoid using cotton swabs or any other objects to clean the ear canal. Inserting objects into the ear can push the earwax deeper, increasing the risk of impaction. The ear has a self-cleaning mechanism; the wax naturally moves toward the outer ear and falls out.
• Minimise water exposure in the ear canal, especially during swimming or bathing. Excess moisture can soften the earwax, making it more likely to become impacted.
• Refrain from inserting objects like bobby pins, pens, or anything other than prescribed ear drops into the ear. These objects can damage the ear canal and eardrum.
• Allergies can lead to excessive earwax production. If you have allergies, consult your doctor for appropriate treatment.
• Seek the help of your doctor to remove excessive earwax if necessary.
