Amlopres-AT Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing high blood pressure, also known as hypertension.

• Helping to control angina pectoris, which is chest pain usually caused by lack of blood flow to your heart.

• Reducing the risk of fatal and non-fatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions which are heart attacks.

• Preventing further episodes of angina and improving survival chances after a heart attack.

Here's how you should take Amlopres-AT Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• It can be taken either before or after meals.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• Make sure you don't exceed the prescribed dose without consulting your doctor.

• If you feel like stopping this medicine, consult your doctor first.

Amlopres-AT Tablet is taken orally.

Amlopres-AT Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Amlodipine (5 mg): This ingredient is a calcium channel blocker. It operates by blocking the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle. The result is vasodilation—a widening of your blood vessels—and reduction in peripheral vascular resistance, which then lowers your blood pressure.

• Atenolol (50 mg): Atenolol is a beta1-selective (cardioselective) beta-adrenergic receptor blocking agent. It blocks the effect of certain natural chemicals like epinephrine on your heart and blood vessels. This leads to a slower heart rate and lower blood pressure, reducing the workload on your heart.

• Keep your Amlopres-AT Tablet in a tightly closed container.

• Store it at room temperature, ideally below 25°C.

• Protect it from exposure to light and moisture.
