Contraindications

• Metformin + Rosiglitazone is contraindicated in patients with type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, and severe kidney disease or dysfunction.
• It is also contraindicated in patients with acute or chronic metabolic acidosis, or known hypersensitivity to either Rosiglitazone or Metformin.

Other Medications to Avoid

• Metformin + Rosiglitazone can interact with certain kinds of medicines such as cationic medicines eliminated by renal tubular secretion (like amiloride, digoxin, morphine), diuretics (such as furosemide), calcium channel blockers (like nifedipine), and medicines that induce hyperglycemia (like thiazides and corticosteroids).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of Metformin + Rosiglitazone can lead to serious health issues like lactic acidosis and hypoglycemia. Immediate medical attention should be sought if overdose is suspected.
• If a dose of this medicine is missed, it should be taken as soon as remembered. However, if it's almost time for the next dose, the missed dose should be skipped. Taking a double dose to make up for the missed dose is not recommended.

• For managing diarrhoea, drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.

• This medication may cause dizziness or fatigue. If these symptoms are experienced, driving or operating heavy machinery should be avoided.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Caution in Other Conditions

• Patients with liver disease, congestive heart failure, edema, anemia, or those at risk for hypoglycemia should use Metformin + Rosiglitazone with caution.
• Vitamin B12 levels should be monitored during long-term use of this medicine.
