Shelcal-250 Tablet is used for the following health conditions:

• Managing calcium and vitamin D deficiency states

• Supporting osteoporosis treatment with necessary calcium and vitamin D supplementation

• Managing conditions caused by low calcium levels such as hypoparathyroidism

• Treating bone-softening conditions like osteomalacia

• Addressing rickets, a condition characterised by weak or soft bones in children due to vitamin D deficiency

Here's how you should take Shelcal-250 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• The tablet can be taken with or without food or as prescribed by the doctor.

• Never exceed the dose recommended by your doctor.

• If you have any doubts about the usage and dosage of the medicine, ask your doctor rightaway.

Shelcal-250 Tablet is taken orally.

Shelcal-250 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Elemental Calcium (250 mg): Calcium is a vital mineral for the development, formation, and maintenance of strong bones. Beyond its role in bone health, calcium also helps regulate heart rhythm, muscle function, blood pressure, and blood clotting.

• Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) (125 IU): Vitamin D3 enhances the absorption of both calcium and phosphate in the intestines. It plays a critical role in bone growth and remodelling by aiding cells called osteoblasts and osteoclasts that are responsible for building up and breaking down bone tissue respectively.

1. Store Shelcal-250 Tablet in a cool, dry place where the temperature stays below 25º Celsius.

2. Avoid storing the tablet in direct sunlight or near heat-producing appliances.

3. Keep this medication out of sight and reach of children.

4. Always check the expiry date on the pack and use it before that.

• Include calcium-rich foods such as milk, cheese, yoghurt, and leafy greens in your diet. These foods support the action of Shelcal-250 Tablet in promoting bone health.
