Coaltar S Lotion 60ml

Coaltar S Lotion is used for managing the following conditions:

• Psoriasis vulgaris, a skin disease causing red and scaly patches.

• Seborrhoeic dermatitis of the scalp, also known as dandruff.

• Ichthyosis conditions such as Ichthyosis vulgaris, X-linked ichthyosis and lamellar ichthyosis.

• Keratosis pilaris and pityriasis rubra pilaris, two types of skin disorders.

Here's how you should use Coaltar S Lotion:

• Start by washing and drying the affected area thoroughly.

• Apply the lotion gently onto the skin.

• Massage it in until it's completely absorbed.

• Avoid getting the lotion in your eyes or mouth.

• Ensure your hands are clean after application unless you're treating your hands.

Coaltar S Lotion is applied topically.

Coaltar S Lotion contains three active ingredients that work together to manage various skin conditions:

• Coal Tar (4.25%): This ingredient has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic (anti-itch), and antiseptic properties. It reduces the thickness of the skin's outer layer and slows down cell growth. Coal tar also inhibits DNA synthesis to decrease the proliferation of keratinocytes – cells that produce keratin, the primary protein found in our skin.

• Salicylic Acid (2%): This ingredient is a keratolytic agent – it promotes the shedding of dead skin cells from the outer layer of your skin by dissolving the intercellular cement between corneocytes (the predominant cell type in the outermost layer of skin). In doing so, salicylic acid thins the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of skin), reduces inflammation, and possesses bacteriostatic properties – it inhibits the growth of bacteria.

• Benzalkonium Chloride Solution (0.40%): This ingredient offers antiseptic properties, helping to kill bacteria and other microorganisms on your skin's surface.

• Store Coaltar S Lotion at room temperature, preferably below 30°C.

• Keep it away from direct heat and moisture to maintain its effectiveness.

• Ensure the container is tightly closed when not in use to prevent air exposure.

• Always keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
