Contraindications

Other Medications to Avoid

• It can interact with other medications such as opioids ( hydrocodone and oxycodone), anticonvulsants ( phenytoin and valproic acid), and anticoagulants ( warfarin).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• Overdosing on it can lead to severe symptoms such as excessive sleepiness, slow or shallow breathing, and unconsciousness. If you suspect an overdose, seek immediate medical help.

• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at once.

  Management of Side Effects

• Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve upon discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of symptoms, please consult your doctor.
• For nausea, vomiting, or stomach discomfort, try taking the medicine with a light meal or snack.
• For headaches, rest and drink plenty of fluids. Do not consume alcohol or smoke as they can make headaches worse.

• For dry mouth or throat irritation, drink plenty of water, and chew sugarless gum to stimulate saliva production.

  Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• This medication can make you feel drowsy or dizzy. Therefore, it is advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how the medicine affects you.

  Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• It may not be safe to take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The medicine can cross the placenta and affect the unborn baby. It can also pass into breast milk and cause sedation in infants who breastfeed. Always consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Caution is advised if you have kidney or liver conditions.
