Uses of Prulifloxacin

  • Prulifloxacin is mainly used to manage urinary tract infections and belongs to the group of fluoroquinolone antibiotics.

  • It may also be prescribed for managing infections of the tonsils, sinuses, nose, throat, female genital organs, skin, soft tissues, and lungs (pneumonia).

  • It works by inhibiting the action of an enzyme called DNA gyrase that bacteria require to synthesize and repair their DNA. By blocking this enzyme, Prulifloxacin prevents bacterial cells from dividing and growing, eventually causing them to die.
