Uses of Prulifloxacin
Prulifloxacin is mainly used to manage urinary tract infections and belongs to the group of fluoroquinolone antibiotics.
It may also be prescribed for managing infections of the tonsils, sinuses, nose, throat, female genital organs, skin, soft tissues, and lungs (pneumonia).

How Prulifloxacin works
Prulifloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic.
It works by inhibiting the action of an enzyme called DNA gyrase that bacteria require to synthesize and repair their DNA. By blocking this enzyme, Prulifloxacin prevents bacterial cells from dividing and growing, eventually causing them to die.

Contraindications

Overdose and Missed Dose
An overdose of Prulifloxacin may cause symptoms like confusion, dizziness, unconsciousness, seizures, nausea, or vomiting. If you suspect an overdose, consult your doctor immediately.
If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule.
Management of Side Effects
Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.
For mild nausea or stomach upset, try taking this medicine with or after a meal.
