Contraindications

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of Loxapine can lead to severe side effects such as extreme drowsiness, agitation, muscle stiffness or shaking, seizure, irregular heartbeat, or coma. Immediate medical attention is necessary in such cases.

• If a dose of Loxapine is missed, it should be administered as soon as it is remembered. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects of Loxapine are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• For drowsiness or sedation, taking Loxapine at bedtime can be helpful.
