Contraindications

• Individuals with a known hypersensitivity to Leuprorelin or any component of its formulation should not use this medication. Those with undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding are also advised against using Leuprorelin.

• Women who are or may become pregnant whilst receiving the drug.

Other Medications to Avoid

• Leuprorelin may interact with medicines that prolong the QT interval such as certain antipsychotics (like risperidone and haloperidol), antibiotics (like erythromycin and ciprofloxacin) and medicines that increase liver enzyme activity (such as rifampin, carbamazepine, and phenytoin).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of Leuprorelin can cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and hot flashes. If you suspect an overdose, consult a doctor immediately.

• If you miss a dose of Leuprorelin, get it as soon as possible. But if it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not administer two doses at the same time.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• Drinking plenty of water can help manage headaches.

• For hot flashes, dressing in layers and avoiding triggers like caffeine and spicy foods can be helpful.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• Leuprorelin may cause dizziness or visual disturbances, which could affect your ability to drive or operate heavy machinery. Avoid these activities if you experience these symptoms.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Leuprorelin can cause foetal harm, and its use is not recommended during pregnancy. It is also contraindicated during breastfeeding. Always consult your doctor before using this medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Patients with a history of mental illness, especially depression, should be closely monitored while using Leuprorelin as it may worsen their condition.

• People with osteoporosis or other conditions that affect bone density should exercise caution when using this medicine as it can potentially lead to bone loss.

Special Dietary and Lifestyle Recommendations

• Regular screenings for cardiovascular diseases are advisable due to the increased risk associated with reduced testosterone levels in men.
