Uses of Clofazimine

  • The primary use of Clofazimine is in managing lepromatous leprosy; it falls under the category of antimycobacterial medications.

How Clofazimine works

  • Clofazimine is an antimycobacterial medication. It works by stopping the growth of the bacteria causing leprosy, namely Mycobacterium leprae. It does this by binding to the DNA of these bacteria, disrupting their ability to replicate, which eventually leads to their death.
