Contraindications

• Arformoterol is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Arformoterol, formoterol, or any components of the medication. It is also contraindicated in patients receiving concomitant treatment with other long-acting beta2-adrenergic receptor agonists (LABAs).

Other Medications to Avoid

• This medicine may interact with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (such as phenelzine and tranylcypromine), tricyclic antidepressants (like amitriptyline and clomipramine), and other medicines known to prolong the QTc interval (such as amiodarone and sotalol).

• Beta-adrenergic receptor-blocking agents (including propranolol and metoprolol) should generally be avoided due to the risk of severe bronchospasm.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of Arformoterol may lead to exaggerated beta-adrenergic effects, such as tachycardia, hypertension, hypokalemia, hyperglycemia, and tremor. Treatment consists of discontinuing Arformoterol along with appropriate symptomatic and supportive therapy.

• If you miss a dose of Arformoterol, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• If experiencing tremors, try relaxing techniques or reduce caffeine intake.

• For dry mouth or throat irritation from the nebulizer, ensure adequate hydration by drinking water.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• Arformoterol may cause dizziness or blurred vision in some individuals. If you experience these symptoms, avoid driving or operating heavy machinery.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Consult your doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Patients with cardiovascular disorders should use Arformoterol with caution due to the potential for heart rate increase and blood pressure changes.

• Caution is advised in patients with diabetes mellitus as Arformoterol may affect blood sugar levels.
